How to become a Contestant:
Fill out entry form and send to sylvia916missa@juno.come or mail.
Find a sponsor: Sponsor fee= $250.00 (this includes your Children's Miracle Network Service requirement). There is NO Fee to enter a Miss America Preliminary.
If you are having difficulty finding a sponsor, please notify the Executive Director, Sylvia Walden at 305-872-1661.

read and fill out all required forms(see below)
Eligibility requirements:
Go to www.missamerica4kids.org and learn about the partnership between Miss America and Children's miracle Network.
Contestants must meet all Miss America eligibility criteria plus live, work, attend school or be home schooled in Monroe County. Young women whose residence is Monroe County
but attend school on the main land or out-of-state are still eligible. They also must:
Must be at least 17 and a High School Senior on the day of the Pageant and no older than 24 on Dec. 31,2008
Be a U.S. Citizen
Have never been married or pregnant

Judging Criteria:
All competitions scored on a scale of 1.0-10.0
using whole numbers, with each contestant's high and low score dropped
from each phase of competition with the exception of the final ballot.
Interview - 25%
On-Stage Question - 5%
Talent - 35%
Evening Wear - 20%
Lifestyle & Fitness in Swimsuit - 15%
TOTAL - 100%
